The role of Aquatics Pathway Instructor is an exciting role in the newly formed Cambrian Aquatics organisation. Cambrian Aquatics aims to provide excellence in a full range of aquatic activities including:

The organisation is operated as non-profit social enterprise for the benefit of the local community and focuses on structured activities that maintain engagement from their participants whilst providing social and health benefits to all its users.

The role will be based at Cambrian Aquatics Sports Centre but may require occasional travel in the course of the successful candidates duties.

The Aquatics Pathway Instructor must have the following essential skills and/or experience:

  • Ability to work to the aquatic activities plan and implement new initiatives in line with the strategic plan
  • Demonstrated experience of delivering a full swimming pathway from learn to swim to high performance swimming
  • Quality control of all activities within the swimming pathway
  • Monitoring progressions through all elements of the pathway with the ultimate goal of ensuring the opportunity for high performance swimming
  • Experience of delivering learn to swim and school programs with the use of the full Aqua Passport planning and feedback tool
  • Adhere to the resource rotas and provide cover using Annualised hours to meet the strategic plan
  • Suggest continuous development opportunities for programs to meet the needs of the users
  • Deliver the innovation strategy as outlined by the Aquatics Coordinator for new products to increase revenue income and user engagement
  • Life guard qualified
  • Experience of running aquatics teaching for schools, clubs and public
  • Skills to carry out maintenance activities in accordance with the facility maintenance schedule

Desirable skills are:

  • Supervisor experience in a swimming pool or sports environment
  • Experienced risk assessor

The role reports directly to the Aquatics Co-Ordinator
